Group Bookings

Bookings for groups up to 12 guests are available any day of the week, during set times each day.

Deposits are required for groups of 8 or more guests.

Bookings for groups larger than 12 guests are available Monday-Thursday with set start times between 11am and 6pm.

Groups of more than 12 with start times later than 6pm, or on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays or holidays are unfortunately unavailable.​

Group Booking Information

For Groups Larger than 12

Our studio has two large tables, each accommodating up to 12 painters, for a total of 24 guests.

​

We apologize if you are looking for a booking during Friday-Sunday. After much experience and consideration we have determined we are not an appropriate space for large groups during these times.

​

To reserve a table, we require a deposit to secure your spot. The deposit is $10 per person (including non-painters).
For example, a group of 12 would require a $120 deposit, while a group of 17 would require a $170 deposit. This deposit will either be deducted from your final purchase on the day of your activity at no charge, or refunded to your original payment method for a small processing fee (Please see Deposit Reimbursement footnote)

You can adjust the number of participants at any time via the "Manage my Reservation" button in your confirmation email.
Please contact us if you need any help making adjustments.

If cancellations are not communicated to us with reasonable notice (at least 24 hours), we reserve the right to retain your deposit. Additionally, if we reserve two tables for your group of, say, 18, and only 8 painters attend without communicating this change to us within the ‘reasonable notice’ timeline, we may retain a portion of your deposit.

​

To avoid any issues, please notify us in advance of any changes to your group size. We understand that unexpected illnesses happen, and we will gladly provide a full refund if a couple of people are unable to attend. We appreciate your consideration!

Please keep in mind that when you book a large reservation, we turn away other potential guests. Additionally, we often bring in extra staff to ensure large groups receive excellent service.

​

A client agreement contract will be emailed to you, and must be signed digitally prior to the confirmation of your reservation.

Estimated Costs

​

Our pricing is all inclusive, depending on the ceramic item chosen. We have a wide range of stock available to paint, with prices that vary depending on the size and style of the item. There are no additional studio fees on top of the price of the pieces.

​The ranges listed below do not include HST or any gratuity (which is not expected, only appreciated).

​

Generally, the average price for a piece ranges from $25 to $40. This includes most medium-sized items like mugs, bowls, vases, planters, plates, and decorative figurines.

We also offer smaller items, such as seasonal holiday ornaments, figurines, and small dishes and trays, priced between $15 and $25.

​

Additionally, we have larger items like platters, teapots, vases, serving dishes, and planters, ranging from $40 to $100.

​

​We require a minimum spend of $20 per person before HST for groups of 12 or more. If some folks in your group paint pieces priced lower, as long as several folks paint items above that and it averages out to roughly $20 a person, that is also acceptable. 

​

Team building groups often will give their painters a price cap per person to stay within a budget. Please communicate this with us prior to the booking date if the person making the booking will not be present on the day of the reservation.

​

Invoices must be paid in full by one individual, or invoices can be done for each individual.

​

We can also send a total invoice electronically after the visit, which must be paid prior to the items being picked up after the firing process.

​

We do not accept partial payments.(ie: Splitting a set budget cost per guest and having the guest cover the remainder in the event they select an item out of budget)

Late Arrivals

​

Reservations are booked for 2.5 hour seatings, so please ensure that your group arrives promptly or slightly early for the booking (no more than 10-15 minutes please).

​

If you are running late to your booking, please take the time to call the store (613-730-0814) to notify us.

​

Please also be aware that your table is only reserved for the time that we have you booked in, and late arrivals do not change the end time of your booking (2.5 hours).

​

Any latecomers will still be required to respect the 2.5 hour limit, with exceptions (if we have the space for them to stick around).

Item Turnaround Time and Picking up Finished Items
 

Items are ready for pick up after a 5-10 day turnaround time (depending on in store volume), during which time we will glaze and fire the pieces. Ready for Pick Up notifications are sent by email to a designated contact person from your group.

All items from a group of 12 or more will be packed as a group to be collected by one individual. It is the responsibility of the designated person from the group to collect and distribute the pieces.

Deposit Reimbursement

​

Please note that The Mud Oven uses a 3rd party (STRIPE) to process all deposit payments. The Stripe processing fee is 2.9% of the total amount paid. 

 

When you complete your activity, there are two options on how we reimburse you for your deposit:

One is that we deduct your deposit amount from your total invoice on the day of the activity. 

The second is that we can refund the deposit amount back directly to the original method of payment. 

 

When a refund is requested by the client, The Mud Oven will reimburse the total amount MINUS the Stripe processing fee (2.9% of the total amount paid) as these processing fees are not reimbursed to us.

If the deposit amount is applied to the invoice on the day of the activity, there is no fee and the amount is returned in full.

On the West side of Bank Street between 3:30-5:30, and on the east side of Bank Street between 2:00-5:30 there is NO STOPPING
Please don't get a ticket!
